Common questions about ATBIM mutual funds.

Our mutual funds are managed through a collaborative structure. The ATB Investment Management (ATBIM) Multi-Asset Strategies Team acts as the overarching portfolio manager. They are responsible for strategic and tactical asset allocations, continuous risk management, and automatic portfolio rebalancing.

To execute the selection of individual securities such as stocks and bonds, ATBIM partners with leading, independent sub-advisors (e.g. Mawer, Canso, Goldman Sachs, and Fiera Capital). These sub-advisors are chosen for their specialized expertise in specific markets and asset classes, and are continuously monitored by ATBIM to uphold strict performance and disciplinary standards.
This model provides four primary advantages for your investments:

Specialized expertise: Rather than relying on a single generalist team, we hire managers who focus exclusively on specific markets or asset classes (e.g. Canadian, US, and International Equity).

Institutional access:
It grants you access to institutional-grade, specialist money managers responsible for overseeing multi-million-dollar investment funds on behalf of retail and institutional clients.

Objective oversight:
Because ATBIM operates independently from the sub-advisors, we remain unbiased. We continuously monitor their performance and will replace a manager if they fail to meet our strict standards.

Global diversification:
It provides local market research and insights from investment teams worldwide, helping to reduce risk and capture global growth opportunities.
No, mutual fund investments are not guaranteed or insured. Because they are investment products, the unit values of these funds fluctuate based on market performance. This means you can gain or lose value, and past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. It is standard practice for mutual funds in Canada to carry these types of disclaimers, as they are market-based investments rather than deposit products like GICs or savings accounts.
You can work directly with an ATB Wealth advisor to build a tailored investment plan for your needs.
ATB mutual funds include a Management Expense Ratio (MER), which covers the costs of professional portfolio management and fund administration. Because exact fees vary depending on the specific fund and series you purchase, please refer to the specific fund's Fund Facts and/or Prospectus documents found here to learn more.
All documents can be found on our Investor Information page.
